Rudy Guillory

Funeral services will be held for Rudy Guillory, 81, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 29. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Guillory died Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at his residence. He served in the U.S. Air Force 517th Military Squadron and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War.
He worked in the FBI Fingerprint Identification Section in Washington D.C. before returning to Louisiana to begin a 20-year career with the LA State Police in 1958. While working with the LA State Police, he attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. In March of 1974, he retired from the LA State Police and on April 1, 1974, he was hired by then District Attorney J. William Pucheu to work as the investigator for the District Attorney’s office. Rudy’s entire working career, which spanned 60 plus years, was spent in law enforcement, beginning with the Military Police during his time in the Air Force to his retirement from the District Attorney’s office on March 31, 2014.
Rudy truly loved the work he did, looked forward to going to work everyday and did not believe in taking days off because he might miss something important. He was a people person, and this trait is what made him a good investigator. He believed in treating everyone with dignity and respect.
