PPPD arrests two for contributing to the delinquency of minors

PINE PRAIRIE - Two Pine Prairie men, who picked up two juvenile females Monday evening are facing serious charges.

Pine Prairie Police Assistant Chief Rick Ordner said Clint Karl Elliott, 21, 314 Village Park Drive, Maurice, and Rusty James Cormier, 21, 1014 Veterans’ Memorial Highway, Ville Platte, are facing charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, two counts, after they allegedly picked up two Pine Prairie teenage girls, without their parents’ consent. Elliott is also facing charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor.

Ordner, assisted by Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Deputies Terry Andrus and Robert Moreau, conducted the traffic stop, Monday, March 31. He said the females were picked up without their parents’ consent by the two men. During the traffic stop, marijuana was found inside the vehicle, which was being driven by Elliott. Cormier also was a passenger in Elliott’s vehicle.

Both men were transported to the parish jail where they were released after posting their bonds. Elliott’s bond was set at $7,500. Cormier’s bond was set at $3,000.
