SMSO drug agents nab 8 suspects

Arnaudville — On March 3, 2008, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Bureau received several complaints from a group of concern citizens in the Arnaudville area.

Their primary concern was suspected narcotics activity near the Bayou Banks area (1000 block of Main Highway, La. 31).

The Narcotics Unit acting promptly to the citizen’s concerns arrested eight subjects on a variety of drug charges. Agents expect additional arrest in the near future. The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office urges anyone having information on drug activity to contact the Narcotics Division by dialing 394-2626 (Narcotics Tips Line) or 394-3071 (Main Office).

Arrested:

•Ojerden Mallet, 30, Arnaudville — possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling;

•Jeremy Leviert, 17, arnaudville — possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling;

•Michael Harper, 28, Arnaudville — possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling;

•Brook Boudreaux, 35, Arnaudville — attempted possession of crack cocaine;

•Ernest Wood, 36, Arnaudville — attempted possession of crack cocaine;

•Mary Fontenot, 44, Opelousas — possession of Schedule III controlled dangerous substance (Loratab), Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance (Zanax) and a legend (prescription) drug (Soma);

•Jimmy Lagrange, 48, Arnaudville — attempted possession of crack cocaine.

•Unnamed juvenile, Arnaudville — obstruction of public passage, resisting arrest, drug traffic loitering;

•Unnamed juvenile, Arnaudville — attempted possession of crack cocaine.
