Four players named to LBCA all-state

With all of the high school baseball talent in Evangeline Parish, it is no wonder the post season awards keep rolling in.
When the recent Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association came out with their all-state selections, four of the parish’s top diamond players were on that list.
Mamou High’s Dylan Duplechin, was named to the class 2A first team. The junior utility player was a first team all-district selection and put up a .519 batting average on the year.
The success of the Sacred Heart Trojans this past season allowed them to place three players on the class 1A all-state team.
Leading the way was recent graduate and Louisiana College commit, Phillip Vidrine.
Vidrine was named M.V.P. of district 5-1A this past year, as well as being selected as a LSWA first team all-state pick. He was also selcted to participate in the LBCA all-star game.
Vidrine was 12-2 on the year and had 76 innings of work on the hill. Vidrine had an ERA of 1.20, while striking out 63 and only walking eight.
Joining Vidrine on the first team was junior infielder Keaton Tate and junior outfielder Jacob L. Lafleur.
Tate was a fist team all district pick as well as an LSWA all-state selection. Tate He batted .431 with a slugging percentage of .569.
Lafleur was also named to the all-district first team list as well as the LSWA all-state first team. Lafleur had tremendous season at the plate, hitting .489 with a slugging percentage of .711.
