"The Rocket" visits Vidrine Elementary
Professional wrestler Chris “The Rocket” Paul, who also is Mamou police sergeant, was the guest speaker at the graduation ceremony for fifth graders who completed a 10-week D.A.R.E. program at Vidrine Elementary School Friday, February 7. Also shown are Assistant Mamou Police Chief Katina Richard, standing, who conducted the ceremony, and Detective Pat Hall, who led the opening and closing prayers. The D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) programs promotes drug- and alcohol-free lifestyles as well as recognizing and discouraging bullying. Richard, also the department’s juvenile specialist, is certified to conduct D.A.R.E. programs through formal training sessions.
