VPPD arrests one following a pursuit

On Friday, the Ville Platte Police Department released a press release concerning a recent car pursuit that resulted in the arrest of 33-year-old Cedrick Gallow.
The release stated that “on June 21, 2017 at approximately 11:00 p.m. an officer with the VPPD observed a vehicle traveling west in the east bound lane of West Main Street.”
According to the release, when “the Officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the vehicle accelerated speed and a short pursuit began.”
During the pursuit, Gallow, who was driving a “grey Jeep,” turned onto U.S. Hwy. 167, and “traveled a short distance before colliding with a set of mailboxes.”
The release states that Gallow then “exited the vehicle and fled.”
According to the release, he “was captured after a short foot pursuit.”
The Ville Platte man was arrested and charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle, aggravated flight from an officer, improper lane usage, improper display of license plate, no driver’s license, failure to have proper paperwork in vehicle, and no insurance.
Gallow was booked into the city jail before being transferred to the Evangeline Parish jail.
Gallow’s bond has been set at $17,740.00.
