Dr. and Mrs. Chad Ellis Songy

Dr. Songy, Miss Broussard united in holy matrimony

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington provided the setting for a lovely 6:30 p.m. ceremony Saturday, April 26, 2014, uniting Miss Margaret Elaine Broussard and Dr. Chad Ellis Songy in holy matrimony, with Father Garrett McIntyre officiating.
The bride is the daughter of George and Dana Broussard of Ville Platte. The groom is the son of Dale and Diane Songy of Baton Rouge.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was radiant in her vintage inspired gown featuring an ivory-colored lace silhouette embellished with crystal beading and enhanced with a mocha-colored lining. The short-sleeved, fitted bodice introduced a dramatic, scalloped, v-shaped neckline and a buttoned, lace-enclosed back. The bride’s ensemble was completed with a satin band at the natural waistline and chapel-length train. She also wore a gold crucifix, which was a family heirloom on the groom’s side.
The bride carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas and white freesia.
Erika Fontenot of New Orleans served as maid of honor for the special occasion. She wore a gorgeous, full-length gown of dupioni silk in midnight blue. The gown was adorned with a ruffle neckline and flat bow detail at the empire waistline. The straight skirt featured gathered pleating in the front. She carried a bouquet of lisianthus and green hypericum berries intermixed with white hydrangeas.
Bridesmaids were Abby Meche of New Orleans, Stacie LaHaye of Baton Rouge, Caitlin Bertrand of Crowley, Suzette Songy of Austin, Texas, and Madeline Broussard and Meredith Broussard, both of Lafayette. They were attired identically to the maid of honor.
Adam Vegas of Natchez, Mississippi, served as best man for the evening ceremony.
Groomsmen were James Gary Alberture, Nicholas Tusa and Dr. Evan Smith, all of New Orleans; Adam Fontenot and Dr. Bobby Hastings, both of Baton Rouge; and Dr. Andrew McCall of Rochester, Minnesota.
Ushers were Cole Kimmel of Zachary, Dixon McMakin of Baton Rouge, Parker Maxwell of Shreveport and Stephen Harrison Breaud of New Orleans.
Zoe Hoffman and Jeweleanne Broussard served as flower girls, and Garrett Hoffman served as ring bearer.
For her daughter’s special day, the bride’s mother selected a navy floor-length gown.
The groom’s mother selected a green floor-length gown.
A reception followed at the Wolff Reception and Banquet Hall in Washington. The location was decorated in a rustic decor with burlap and navy accents.
Following a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple has made their home in Little Rock, Arkansas.
