Boggy Bayou Festival begins Friday in Pine Prairie

The 24th Annual Boggy Bayou Festival will be observed in Pine Prairie Friday, April 4, through Sunday, April 6.

Travis Matte will be the headliner at this year’s festival when he takes the stage Saturday at 10 p.m. Also performing Saturday will be the Ville Platte Playboys at 11 a.m. and Kyle Veillon and Flatland at 5 p.m.

Friday nights entertainment includes Paul and Pete at 5 p.m. and Shane West and Turning Point at 8 p.m.

Admission is $5 per day, for ages 13 and older; and $1 per day for those, 12 years and under. Toddlers and infants will be admitted for free.

The carnival will open Friday at 1 p.m., Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 11:30 a.m. Bracelet tickets are being sold now, please call the nursing home before the start of the festival.

The flag raising ceremony will be at 4 p.m. Friday. The appreciation ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday followed by the queen’s pageant at 2 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs. No pets, except during the pet show on Saturday, or ice chests will be allowed. All proceeds from this festival benefit Prairie Manor Nursing Home.
