Heritage Manor News: Celebrating National Volunteer Week

National Volunteer Week is the official time to recognize and celebrate the efforts of volunteers. Because the usual week falls on Holy Week before Easter, it was moved to an earlier date. The national observance began in 1974, when President Richard Nixon signed an executive order establishing the week as an annual celebration. Our annual volunteer supper will be held Thursday, April 10, at 6 p.m. in the dining room. We invite all active volunteers to join us in this celebration. There will be a lot of door prizes and delicious food, as well as the presentation of the Volunteer of the Year award. Please call ahead or stop by to let us know how many in your group plan to attend. We hope to see a good turn out as we have had in the past.
Activities this week include Come Lord Jesus group, exercise, happy hour, manicures, patriotic rosary, in-room visits, bouree games, mass by Sacred Heart, bookmobile, social reading, bingo sponsored by Michael Brown, jingo and music by T-Rob.
The staff of Heritage Manor welcomes Donna Edmond and Joseph Bourque to the facility.
The staff of Heritage Manor sends get-well wishes to Theresa Fontenot, Freddie Sims and Francis Nelson.
The staff of Heritage Manor wishes a Happy Birthday this week to Elise Vidrine, Dorothy Edwards, Lucille Fontenot, Pershing Deville and Launey Johnson.
Congratulations to our Employee of the Month for April Emma Wilson and our Resident of the Month Bernadine Jack.
The resident birthday party will be held on Tuesday, April 8, at 2 p.m. in the activity room.
For more information, please feel free to call Heritage Manor and ask for the activity department. Many thanks to all of the merchants that donated door prizes for the volunteer supper. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, call or come by for more information and a calendar of events.
