Heritage Manor News: Happy Activity Week

National Activity Professionals Week begins today, January 19, and lasts through January 25. This week was created to give honor and recognition to those individuals who contribute so significantly to residents’ quality of life. As an activity director of 15 plus years, it gives me great pleasure to wish all activity directors and their assistants a very happy activity week. We enjoy our jobs and the challenges we face each day while making sure we stay active and, most importantly, happy. A good way to keep this job interesting and rewarding is to be organized, punctual, energetic, compassionate, patient, caring, respectful and have a good sense of humor. Arranging schedules of events, calendars, bedside programs, outings, parties, pageants, resident council meetings, marketing and community functions is just the start of the duties this job entails. Residents are not aware of the paperwork or details, they just are very appreciative of the outcome and the love that you show them. So, to all individuals that do this line of work, we salute each one of you and encourage you to keep up the good work.
Activities this week include manicures, pokeno, Come Lord Jesus, ball toss, happy hour, group exercise, Silver Eagle social outing, bingo sponsored by Guardian Hospice, group therapy, Olympic games and mass by Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
The staff of Heritage Manor extends get-well wishes to Leanna Gradney, Kenneth Castille, Lou E. Fontenot and Theresa Fontenot.
The staff of Heritage Manor extends its deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Louis Lafleur. He will be dearly missed by all.
The staff of Heritage Manor sends a big thank you to the staff and management of Wal-Mart for their recent donation, which is greatly appreciated.
