Heritage Manor News: Spring and Easter events

Our king and queen (Andrus Chapman and Bobbie McCauley) represented Heritage Manor at a recent LNHA Region III Pageant in Abbeville. The pageant was hosted by Maison du Monde. Sixteen other area nursing homes competed in the event. McCauley placed second runner-up to the queen. Although Chapman did not place, he did a great job and we are proud of both of them. Many thanks to Tara Duplantis and Rhett Wimberly for hosting this year’s pageant.
This week, we have Easter events taking place. On Wednesday, April 16, residents are looking forward to egg pocking with the Ville Platte Homakers. On Thursday, April 17, residents will dye eggs with the Cajunettes. These devoted women have been doing this for many years and we truly thank them for all they do. Friday, which is Good Friday, we will be blessed to have Verna Guillory and her helpers to perform the Way of the Cross for the residents. We are looking forward to these fun events.
Next week, we will be celebrating a birthday for Rose Guillory, who will turn 101 on April 29. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Activities this week include bingo sponsored by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, manicures, happy hour, patriotic rosary, in-room visits, group exercise, social reading, Come Lord Jesus group, service by Community Prayer Line and bookmobile.
