Savoy Care Center News: Residents enjoy recent activities

Hello once again, my friends,
Well, it looks like Mama Nature pulled another fast one on us, half a month of summer and half a month of winter. Poor old Frankie (our pet therapy dog) can’t decide whether to shed his summer coat or let his winter coat come out! Talk about one confused little puppy! A lot of us feel the same way, dress warm in the morning and then it is shorts and short sleeves for the afternoon.
On a more somber note, we had an excellent float to participate with in the Veteran’s Day Parade to give thanks to all of the men and women who have served our country and continue to do so around the world. Some of those men and women paid the ultimate price so we can continue to live as we do in this great country of ours. I know I am proud to have served in the U.S. Air Force, the Louisiana Army National Guard and the regular U.S. Army. Never pass up a chance to tell a veteran or current armed forces member thank you!
We celebrated NFL Day on November 15 and then watched the Saints teach the Forty-niners a little something called football. And the week before, they beat the Cowboys so badly I think they were too sore to ride their horses back to Dallas! “Who Dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?”
Well, the workers in the kitchen prepared another fantastic Thanksgiving feast. Ms. Jeanie and Ms. Loretta have put their hearts and souls into giving us some really great and innovative food. That about wraps it up, except that all of us here at SCC wish you a fun, safe and happy holiday season!
