Sheriff's office reports 17 recent arrests

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported 17 recent bookings into the parish jail.
Arrested were the following persons:
•Dirk Alexandria Thomas, 32, 612 Poinciana Ave., Mamou, was charged February 10, with aggravated assault. Thomas was released from jail on a $2,500 bond.
•Colin G. Black, 36, 112 Bradley St., Denham Springs, was charged February 11, with possession with intent to distribute crystal meth, possession of crystal meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of Schedule II in a drug free zone. Black was being held in jail on a $17,500 bond at press time.
•John Blake Doucet, 28, 324 Issac Drive, Basile, was charged February 11, with suspended driver’s license, careless operation, possession of Schedule I, possession of Schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia. Doucet was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
•Melissa Kay King, 35, 8350 Deer Ford Road, Zachary, was charged February 11, with possession with intent to distribute Schedule II, possession of drugs in a drug free zone and possession of drug paraphernalia. King was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
•William Thomas King, 47, 1023 Cemetery Road, Turkey Creek, was charged February 11, with domestic abuse battery. King was being held in jail on a $15,000 bond at press time.
•Hermandus D. Semien, 21, 4307 Lake Fairway Drive, Lake Charles, was charged February 13, with unauthorized use of az motor vehicle, resisting an officer by flight and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Semien was being held in jail on a $50,000 bond at press time.
•John Blake Soileau, 50, 1640 Cajun Drive, #7E, Mamou, was charged February 13, with aggravated battery. Soileau was being held in jail on a $10,000 bond at press time.
•Ronald Kenneth Benson, 54, 13443 Hampton Bend Lane, Houston, Texas, was charged February 14, with DWI (first offense), speeding (72 mph in a 55 mph zone) and careless operation. Benson was released from jail on a $1,276.50 bond.
•Cory Wayne Deville, 18, 1084 A.P. Lane, Ville Platte, was charged February 16, with DWI (first offense) and careless operation, Deville was released from jail on a $1,275 bond.
•Trenton Lee Blood, 33, 2243 Blood Bend Road, St. Landry, was charged February 14, with issuing worthless checks. Blood was released from jail on a $250 bond.
•Jeffery Keith Lee, 39, 1231 Hebert Ave., Breaux Bridge, was charged February 15, with speeding (58 mph in a 45 mph zone), no proof of insurance, expired MVI and car theft. Lee was released from jail on a $5,326 bond.
•James Carol Bertrand, 70, 708 Theophile Road, Ville Platte, was charged February 16, with remaining after being forbidden and disturbing the peace. Bertrand was released from jail on a $1,500 bond.
•Shawn Cory Guillory, 38, 2971 Spring Prairie Road, Mamou, was charged February 14, with stalking. Guillory was released from jail on a $500 bond.
•Nathaniel Lee Spears, 19, 3534 Bond Road, Mamou, was charged February 14, with domestic abuse battery. Spears was released from jail on a $20,000 bond.
•Charity Renae Fontenot, 35, 716 Third St., Mamou, was charged February 15, with DWI (first offense), suspended driver’s license, speeding and no seat belt. Fontenot was released from jail on a $1,256.50 bond.
•Brandon Jermaine Robinson, 29, P.O. Box 1260, Winnfield, was charged February 14, with forcible rape. Robinson was being held in jail on a $75,000 bond at press time.
•Garrett Paul Pelican, 20, 1602 Bell St., Kinder, was charged February 14, with DWI (first offense, following too close and underage driving under the influence. Pelican was being held in jail on a $1,451.50 bond at press time.
