LYNETTE “LYNN” FONTENOT

August 17, 1958 - May 18, 2008

Funeral services were held for Lynette “Lynn” Fontenot, 49, of Mamou, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Mamou at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 20. Burial followed in the New St. Ann’s Cemetery.

A native of Eunice, Mrs. Fontenot died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Savoy Medical Center in Mamou. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Jason Keith Fontenot of Mamou; two sons, Christopher Paul Fontenot and his wife, Brooke, and William Scott Fontenot, both of Mamou; her step-father, Earl Fuselier; three brothers, Jerry Fuselier and Terry Fuselier, both of Eunice, and David Fuselier of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Ferdette Cart of Lafayette, Vanessa Soileau of Eunice and Sonyia Bruchhaus of Elton; her special daughter-in-law, Heidi Stagg Fontenot; and three grandchildren, Silas, Harley and Emily Fontenot.

She was preceded in death by one son, Donovan Troy Fontenot; her parents, Willie Arnaud and Diana Fuselier; and her mother-in-law, Mercedez Fuselier.

Deacon David Guillory officiated.

MARY ANN GUILLORY

March 14, 1956 - May 21, 2008

Graveside funeral services were held for Mary Ann Guillory, 52, of Pine Prairie, at Evangeline Memorial Cemetery in Ville Platte at 4 p.m., Friday, May 23.

A native of Ville Platte, Ms. Guillory died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Prairie Manor Nursing Home in Pine Prairie.

Survivors include one son, Farrell Guillory of Ville Platte; three daughters, Tammy Clark and her husband, Brian, of Pine Prairie and Tina Brown and her husband, Darrell, and Tabitha Janice and her husband, Francis, all of Ville Platte; one brother, Gary Fontenot and his wife, Karen, of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Linda Fontenot of Marksville and Dorothy Guillory of Ville Platte; and 10 grandchildren, Caleb, Dustin and Cameron Clark, Haley and Katie Brown, Gavin and Josie Guillory, and Zachary, Madeline and Eli Janice.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Valentine B. and Mary Godeaux Fontenot.

OTIS FONTENOT

March 25, 1919 - May 21, 2008

Funeral services were held for Otis Fontenot, 89, of Ville Platte, at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 3 p.m., Friday, May 23. Burial followed in the Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.

Mr. Fontenot died at 7:55 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at his residence. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army. He also was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Rosabelle F. Fontenot of Ville Platte; one son, Bryan Fontenot and his wife, Cenevieve, of Mamou; four grandchildren, Richard Fontenot and his wife, Rhonda, Marcus Fontenot, Tiffiny Fontenot and Neal Fontenot and his wife, Shelly; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alcibade and Alma Fontenot.

Father Neil McNeil officiated.

ELWARD J. DESHOTELS SR.

April 20, 1937 - May 22, 2008

MAMOU - Funeral services were held for Elward J. Deshotels Sr., 71, of Mamou, at First Baptist Church of Mamou at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 24. Burial followed in the Courville Cemetery in Eunice.

Mr. Deshotels died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Savoy Medical Center after an extended illness.

Survivors include his wife, Diana Deshotels of Mamou; two sons, Elward J. Deshotels Jr. of Mamou and Craig Deshotels of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Sonya Deshotels of Mamou; four brothers, Wesley Deshotels of Mamou, Errol Deshotels of Oberlin, Michael Deshotels of Zachary and Danny Deshotels of Lettsworth; two grandchildren, Garrett Deshotels of Houston, Texas, and Katelyn Deshotels of Mamou; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Brother Ervin Goodman officiated.

Funeral services were held for Ms. Roxi Ann Thomas, 30, of Mamou, at Word of Faith Church at 7 p.m., Friday, May 23. Burial followed in the Word of Faith Cemetery Saturday, May 24.
