Evening ceremony unites Malorie Boudreaux, Tyler Meche

A seven o’clock evening wedding ceremony on Friday, August 1, united in marriage Malorie Elizabeth Boudreaux of Rayne and Tyler Earl Meche of Crowley. Con-celebrating the ceremony at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church were Rev. William Ruskoski and Rev. John “Buddy” Breaux.

The bride is the daughter of Richard and Madelene Boudreaux of Rayne. Her grandparents are Joyce Faulk and the late Stanley R. Faulk of Rayne and June Boudreaux and the late George Boudreaux of Crowley. She is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, attended LSU-Eunice, and is now a veterinary technician for Acadia Animal Clinic in Crowley.

The groom is the son of Greg and Mona Meche of Crowley. His grandparents are Betty Melancon, Jimmy Melancon, Juanita Meche and the late Earl Meche of Crowley. He is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, attended LSU-Eunice, and is currently continuing his studies in industrial electricity.

Providing musical selections for the ceremony were Kristin and Mark Dunbar, and trumpeter Joe Stemplewski.

Scriptures were recited by Jimmy “Beany” Melancon, godfather of the groom, and Cheryl Guidry, godmother of the bride.

Gifts were offered by Lindsey Romero and Joey Stelly, friends of the couple.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless Michaelangelo A-lined gown of white satin featuring an overlay of white tulle. The fitted bodice was adorned with alencon lace, Swarovski crystals, iridescent bugle beads, and seeded pearls, which were repeated in a scattered pattern on the skirt and also encircled the sweep train. She selected a white tulle layered fingertip veil for her headpiece, and carried a gathered bouquet of green and white roses with touches of spider mums and Bells of Ireland.

Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day included her grandfather’s handkerchief as something old, her wedding dress as something new, her pearl jewelry as something borrowed, and a garter as something blue, along with a sixpence in her shoe.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was a friend, Andrea Doucet. Bridesmaids were Blanche Boudreaux and Blair Thibodeaux, sisters of the bride; Allie Perrodin, Shayna Arceneaux and Hanna Legnion, friends of the bride.

Bridal attendants each wore a black silk cocktail-length dress with a soft V-neckline and draping capped sleeves off the the shoulder.

Attending the groom as his best man was a friend, Jarreytt Johnson. Groomsmen were Jeron Abshire, David Hardee, Bryan Leger, Lance Habetz and Doug Keaton, friends of the groom.

Ushering guests were Austin Meche and Hunter Meche, brothers of the groom, and John Ed Hundley, friend of the couple.

Serving as flower girl was Elise Gossen, friend of the bride, with ring bearers including Caleb Henry, friend of the groom, and Brayden Broussard, godson of the bride.

For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride wore a “K” design satin cocktail-length charcoal gray A-lined dress embossed with black and silver damask flowers topped with a black, capped-sleeve bolero sweater.

The groom’s mother selected a V-neck ecru sleeveless vintage top by designer Joanna Chen embossed with gold and black threads complimented by a matching long-sleeved jacket over an ankle-length black chiffon, crepe lined skirt.

Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a reception for the newlyweds was held at The Ballroom in Crowley. In keeping with the wedding theme and colors, food tables were adorned with chartreuse green tablecloths with accents of black and white damask. Alternating centerpieces of hurricane globes and floral arrangements of white orchids and Bells of Ireland draped with ivy in lear cylinder vases lined with lime slices were a main focal point of each guest table.

Among the refreshments provided for the guests was the bride’s cake, a confection of white fondant icing accented with a black damask design. Serving the cake was the bride’s godmother, Cheryl Guidry.

The groom’s cake was a coconut confection served by Brenda Simon, godmother of the groom.

Guests registered from numerous points of Louisiana, in addition to Houston and San Antonio, Texas.

Following a wedding trip to Tennessee, the couple will reside in Crowley.

Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held Thursday, July 31, in Crowley hosted by the groom’s parents.
