New Orleans — The Louisiana Supreme Court rejected claims last Wednesday that convicted serial killer Derrick Todd Lee was mentally retarded. Lee’s legal team argued that he should not have been tried in East Baton Rouge Parish for the 2002 murder of Charlotte Murray Pace.
The Supreme Court originally heard Lee’s case in September when he received the death penalty for the death of one Baton Rouge woman. Authorities dispute that Lee killed seven other women, including Pace, before DNA swabs connected him to the murder.
