NEW CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS SWORN IN - During the October 2, meeting of the local Catholic Daughters chapter, five new members were installed. From left, they are Miranda Roberie, Yvette Soileau, Kathy Coldiron, Janice Soileau and Connie Veillon.

Catholic Daughters welcome new members

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, met at the Sacred Heart meeting room Wednesday, October 2, with Regent Barbara Delafosse officiating. She announced that Father Brian Harrington had agreed to become the court’s chaplain.
Delafosse wished a Happy Birthday to members celebrating in October.
National CDA Sunday will be celebrated Sunday, October 20. Members will take a photo with Mayor Jennifer Vidrine October 15, when she signs a proclamation recognizing the day.
The court has been asked to help prepare the going away reception for Father Joshua Guillory. Food was discussed, and members Tina Dupre and Darlene Roberie will chair the committee.
Father Harrington asked the court to present Father Guillory with spiritual bouquets as a going away present.
A committee was chosen to audit the court’s books before next month’s meeting.
Five new court members were sworn in by Chris Brown. They are Kathy Coldiron, Miranda Roberie, Janice Soileau, Yvette Soileau and Connie Veillon.
The month of October is the Month of Mary, and a Rosary was prayed following the close of the meeting.
