Ville Platte Deputy Marshal Arthur Lee Phillips has been arrested for the second time in less than two weeks.
Phillips was first arrested on May 8, 2017 in connection with a prostitution incident that occurred in Fenton, La.
The 50-year-old’s most recent arrest however occurred on Thursday, May 18, 2017, after Arthur Sampson filed a complaint with the Ville Platte Police Department against Phillips for telephone harassment.
Sampson’s complaint, which was filed on Friday, May 12, stated that “around 5:49 a.m.” Sampson “received a phone call from a number he didn’t know.”
According to Sampson, after not answering the first call, the person called again.
Sampson told police that when he answered the second call, the person on the other line proceeded to tell him “I don’t appreciate you talking about me on Facebook,” and “you need to watch yourself because you been talking about me on Facebook and I am going to get you back.”
Sampson also told police that during the course of their conversation he proceeded to ask the individual who they were and the person responded “Arthur Phillips.”
Although the complaint was filed with the VPPD, this matter has been turned over to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office due to a conflict of interest.
Phillips was arrested and charged with telephone communication harassment. He has since been released from the EPSO jail on a $1,500.00 bond.
