Mr. DesHotels, Dr. Delafosse united in holy matrimony

St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau provided the setting for a lovely 7 p.m. ceremony Friday, April 19, 2013, uniting Dr. Ginger Nicole Delafosse and Mr. Edward Shea DesHotels in holy matrimony, with Father James Lambert officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Ricky and Joan Delafosse of Reddell. The groom’s parents are Connie and Scott Landreneau of Mamou and the late Blaine DesHotels.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was radiant in her ivory-colored gown of chantilly lace by Justin Alexander. The gown featured tulle cap sleeves with a V-neckline, a regal satin cummerbund accented with a flower and lace, and a tulle mermaid skirt. The V-shaped back was accented with buttons positioned over the back zipper that flowed into a chapel-length train. To complete her look, the bride wore her mother’s antique lace veil, earrings containing a filgree design accentuated with Swarovski crystal rhinestone and Swarovski white pearls and a bracelet consisting of a central silver filigree design with Swarovski crystal rhinestones and Swarovski white pearl embellishment.

The bride carried a handmade bouquet of ivory and dusty rose-colored silk flowers accented with brooches and her grandmother’s rosary.

Kitty Jo Deshotel and Michelle LeBleu, both of Ville Platte, served their sister as matrons of honor for the special occasion. Maids of honor were Desiree’ DesHotels of Mamou, sister of the groom; and Rajal Noorali of Fort Worth, Texas.

Bridesmaids were Victoria Johnson and Katie Reed, both of Lafayette; Amy Guillory of Monroe; Lauren Fusilier of Tallahasse, Florida; and Kamryn Deshotels of Ville Platte.

All of the bridesmaids wore a dusty rose-colored, floor-length, chiffon dress of their choosing and carried a bouquet of baby’s breath wrapped in pearls.

The groom wore a grey suit with grey vest and tie and a boutonnière of baby’s breath wrapped in burlap with a photo of his late father.

Kyle DesHotels of Mamou, uncle of the groom, served as best man for the evening ceremony.

Groomsmen were Brandon Long and Kory Moss, both of Effie; Brandon Douget, Kade Verrette and Clay Chapman, all of Mamou; Corey Ward of Lafayette; Alex Buller of Ville Platte and Zac Harmon of Church Point.

All groomsmen wore grey suits with dusty rose-colored tie and vest. The boutonnière was baby’s breath wrapped in burlap.

Ushers were Jason Deshotel and Chris LeBleu, brothers-in-law of the bride.

Gabrielle LeBleu, godchild of the bride, served as flower girl; and Hayden Deshotel, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.

For her daughter’s special day, the bride’s mother selected a rose wine-colored, floor-length, taffeta dress featuring feather and rhinestone detail with coordinating bolero jacket.

The groom’s mother selected a black and champagne-colored knee-length dress of lace and taffeta with coordinating bolero jacket.

A reception followed at the Grand Coteau Ballroom. The hall was decorated with pearls and baby’s breath throughout the hall. The tables were covered in ivory-colored linens and accented with tower vases containing baby’s breath surrounded by pearls.

Following a wedding trip to Sydney, Melbourne and Port Douglas, Australia, the couple has made their home in Mamou.
