SWAT team finds man with assistance of city marshal and VPPD

The Ville Platte City Marshal’s Warrant Officer Horace Johnson along with Ville Platte Police Officer Cody Savoie assisted the Lake Charles SWAT team in locating a suspect they believed was hiding in Ville Platte.
Johnson said he received the call from Lake Charles police, who were searching for Tracey Williams, a material witness in a murder case in Lake Charles. Williams was evading police and the Lake Charles Police Department received information that he was hiding in Ville Platte.
Both Johnson and Savoie assisted the SWAT team and quickly located Williams in the 500 block of W. Wilson Street. He was arrested without incident at about 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
