Mr. Cumella, Jr, Miss Fontenot united in Holy Matrimony

Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Ville Platte provided the setting for a lovely 6:30 p.m. ceremony Saturday, May 6, 2017, uniting Miss Jessica Lynn Fontenot and Charles Vincent Cumella, Jr., in Holy Matrimony, with Father Kenneth Michels and Deacon Derek Ducote officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Tommy and Lynn Fontenot of Ville Platte. The groom is the son of Charles Sr. and Cathy Cumella of Alexandria.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was radiant in her designer cameo floor length gown covered with ivory alencon lace appliques and scalloped edging with frosted beading over the illusion neck line. To compliment her dress, the bride also wore a crystal bridal comb in her fingertip length veil with scalloped lace trim and beading. The bride’s ensemble was completed with a crystal bracelet and tear drop earrings with a beaded blue garter.
The hand tied bridal bouquet consisted of white and blush garden roses and ranunculas along with seeded eucalyptus. The bouquet was personalized with the bride’s great-grandmother’s Rosary intertwined.
Meagan LaFleur (sister of the bride) of Ville Platte served as matron of honor for the special occasion. She wore a floor length chiffon over a satin eggplant dress with an illusion neckline. She carried a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet made of white and blush garden roses and ranunculas along with seeded eucalyptus.
Bridesmaids were Bridget Vidrine (friend of the bride) of Ville Platte, Lacey Ortego (friend of the bride) of Pine Prairie, Cayla Hoback (fiance’ of the bride’s brother) of Ville Platte, and Kristen Parker (friend of the bride) of Alexandria. The junior bridesmaid was Audrey Ortego (niece of the bride) of Youngsville. They were attired in floor length chiffon over a satin blue dress with illusion necklines. The junior bridesmaid wore ivory lace over satin with a V-neckline.
Justin Hatcher (friend of the groom) served as best man for the evening ceremony.
Groomsmen were David Flynn (friend of the groom) of Alexandria, Eric Vandersteen (friend of the groom) of Natchitoches, Adam Fontenot (brother of the bride) of Ville Platte, and Kevin Boudreaux (friend of the groom) of Alexandria. They were attired in Calvin Klein black tuxedos with silver colored vests and ties.
The ring bearers were Collin and Cooper LaFleur (nephews of the bride) who wore matching light grey suits with blush bow ties.
Vocalist was Katie Hebert of Bunkie with pianist accompaniment.
For her daughter’s special day, the bride’s mother was attired in a navy floor length A-line silhouette with a sequined lace bodice.
The groom’s mother chose a floor length navy sheath with a floral chiffon jacket.
A reception followed at The Northside Civic Center in Ville Platte where the guest tables were adorned with flower and lantern centerpieces. Antique wooden doors with grapevine tulle and lights served as the backdrop for the wedding party.
Following a honeymoon to a resort in Las Vegas, the couple has made their home in Alexandria.
