El Reed Bellard

Funeral services will be held for El Reed Bellard, 74, of Ville Platte, at St. John Baptist Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 21. Burial will follow in the St. John Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Bellard died Sunday, December 15, 2013, at Eunice Manor Nursing Home in Eunice.
Survivors include his former wife, Eva Mae Bellard of Texas City, Texas; two sons, El Reed Bellard Jr. and Waylon Shaun Bellard, both of Texas City, Texas; seven sisters, Nel Thomas of Beaumont, Texas, Whelyn B. Tolbert (Tab) of Los Angeles, California, Helen B. Simmons and Gloria B. Frazier, both of Baton Rouge, and Emily B. Robinson, Theresa Ann Poullard and Karen Gail Green, all of Ville Platte; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd Bellard and Louise Poullard Bellard; and two brothers, Ray Anthony Bellard and Jimmy Rogers Bellard.
Rev. Freddie Jack will officiate.
