PLAISANCE - Funeral services will be held for James Joubert, 79, of Ville Platte, at Antioch Baptist Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 17. Burial will follow in the St. Mark Baptist Church Cemetery in Plaisance.
Mr. Joubert died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Missouri Joubert of Ville Platte; three daughters, Ester (Charles) R. Mooney of Ville Platte, Marcella (James) Thompson of Texas City, Texas, and Christella (Maurice) Davis of Tomball, Texas; one son, John Gregory (Marsha) Joubert of Opelousas; nine grandchildren, Latysha Chavis, Jasmine Joubert, JaMarque Thompson, Kiyomi Richard, Jinko Richard, Hosea Richard Jr., Trevas Cullivan, Trae Cullivan and Thorne Cullivan; and six great-grandchildren, Michael Hayes III, Cardell Richard, Terrance Cullivan, Tierra Cullivan, Morgan Cullivan and Jaylen Salsman; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Joubert and Beatrice Hollier Joubert.
Pastor Eradley Ben Sr. will officiate.
Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Ville Platte will be in charge of arrangements.
