Roberta Ann Fontenot

Funeral services will be held for Roberta Ann Fontenot, 78, of Ville Platte, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 4 p.m., Thursday, October 17. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Ms. Fontenot died Monday, October 14, 2013. She was affectionately known as “Maw Maw Berta” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Roberta was truly loved by everyone who knew her and met her. She was high-spirited and quick to laugh! Roberta brought light with her wherever she tread. Always up for an adventure, and perhaps a little mischief, she leaves behind a rich history of tales for her family to share. She was a big fan of Johnny Carson and loved chocolate and a good cup of coffee. Her love of dogs was evident by the many dogs she owned throughout her life.
“Maw-maw, you taught us deep love and devotion, but also how to have great fun. And for that, we thank you.”
Survivors include three children, Michael C. Fontenot of Ville Platte, Kendall D. Fontenot and his wife, Marie, of Broussard and Jessica Jill Thibodeaux and her husband, Anthony Thibodeaux, of Breaux Bridge; her husband, Don Fontenot of Ville Platte; one brother, Dirk Fontenot and his wife, Denise, of Ville Platte; nine grandchildren, Kristie Lynn Thibodeaux McGrew and her husband, Patrick McGrew, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Heidi Lucille Fontenot Guillory and her husband, Robbie Guillory, of Youngsville, April Lee Fontenot Klassen and her husband, Joshua Klassen, of Remington, Virginia, Joshua Paul Fontenot of Broussard, Lauren Elizabeth Thibodeaux of Knoxville, Tennessee, Vaughn Joseph Fontenot of Ville Platte; Alex Armand Thibodeaux and his wife, Emily, of Oahu, Hawaii, and Claire Marie Thibodeaux of Breaux Bridge; and three great-grandchildren, Mia Marie Guillory and Olivia Celeste Guillory, both of Youngsville, and Jacob Mason Klassen of Remington, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Avie Fontenot.
Visitation will continue Thursday, October 17, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at LaVille Funeral Home.
