No. 4 Basile hosts East Beau in key league tilt

Not since week three has Basile been tested in 2013. Class 1A’s fourth ranked squad has only been tested once and that was against St. Ed’s when Basile got a late score to win 29-22. That could change this week as the Bearcats host another hot Class 1A squad in East Beauregard. The Trojans are 6-1 on the year and have not lost since week one when they fell to LaSalle. Since then, EBHS has been wrecking teams, including an 18-16 win over Oberlin.
Both platoons are undefeated in District 4-1A and neither team has played Elton. While that game is still a while off, this is going to be one to set the tone.
Basile has been nearly flawless. On offense, the multi-pronged attack has been putting up almost 40 points a game, which is much more than last year’s team that made it to the Class 1A quarter-finals.
On defense, Basile is holding teams to less than 10 points a game. While that is typically a trademark of Head Coach Tony Bertrand’s teams, it is still less than last year’s squad was doing by week eight.
EBHS is scoring nearly 30 points a game and holding teams down as well. The run dominant team will face the best team on their schedule thus far tomorrow night.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m in Basile.
