Mrs. Blake Allen Bares

Mr. Bares, Miss Miller united in holy matrimony

St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville provided the setting for a lovely 6:30 p.m. ceremony Saturday, January 4, 2014, uniting Miss Amber Marie Miller and Mr. Blake Allen Bares in holy matrimony with Father Kendall Faulk officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Gordon Miller of Opelousas and Tammy Jorden of Ville Platte. The groom is the son of Farrell and Janet Bares of Maurice.
The church was beautifully decorated for the Christmas season.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was radiant in her romantic winter white fit and flare gown with a strapless sweetheart neckline, a pleated taffeta waistband detail at the empire waist with a floral-motif beaded applique detail and embroidered lace appliques. She wore silver pear-shaped diamond and pearl earrings, a round-cut diamond bracelet with smooth sterling silver setting and a vintage rhinestone and lace hair comb. She also wore a white cathedral-length veil accented with lace appliques along the edging to complete her attire.
The bride carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas, silver brunia, football mums, dusty miller and anemone.
Alicia Vasseur of Eunice served as matron of honor for the special occasion. She wore a pale blue, strapless, floor-length chiffon gown accented with a sweetheart neckline. She wore a hairpin of rhinestones, crystals and pearls and carried a bouquet of hydrangeas, silver brunia, misty filler and dusty miller flowers.
Bridesmaids were Alia Jorden and Jillian Nicks, both of Ville Platte; Chelsey Roberie of Lafayette; and Emilie Mouton of Baton Rouge. They were attired identically to the matron of honor.
Paul Domingue of Lafayette served as best man for the evening ceremony.
Groomsmen were Kevin Pitre and Benjamin Bares, both of Maurice; Matthew Hebert of Emmitsburg, Maryland; and Jonathon Duhon of Lafayette.
Ushers were Andre Bares of Maurice and Taylor Noel of Abbeville.
Flower girl was Caroline Broussard of Wichita Falls, Texas; and ring bearers were Hayden and Cooper Vassuer of Eunice.
For her daughter’s special day, the bride’s mother selected a teal, Ralph Lauren, one-shoulder silhouette gown accented with a brooch at the right shoulder, slim fit through bodice with shirring at left side and a straight skirt with an even-sewn hem.
The groom’s mother selected a silver halter-ruffled collar, open-back, floor-length gown with a natural v neckline.
A reception followed at the Petroleum Club in Lafayette. Guest tables were decorated with burlap table runners and lanterns with candlelight. Mason jars with floating tea light candles accented high-top tables surrounding the dance floor. Floral arrangements with hydrangeas, curly willow and hanging candles were also used to enhance the beautiful setting.
Following a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple will make their home in Maurice.
