WILLIAM WEST, JR.

Funeral services for Mr. William West, Jr. were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Pine Prairie First Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Holsomback officiating. Interment followed in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery Pine Prairie under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. West, 81, of Pine Prairie, entered eternal rest on Friday, June 2, 2017 in Prairie Manor Nursing Home.
William was past president of the water board in Pine Prairie for over twenty-five years. He was also a member of Pine Prairie First Baptist Church and avid outdoorsman and duck hunter.
He was preceded in death by his parents; William West, Sr. and Louada West; first wife, Betty Faye Robert West; one son, Shane West,and three sisters, Denise West, Lavergne Davenport and Wilda West.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Irmus F. West of Pine Prairie; two sons, Joey West and his wife, Julie, and Quint West and his wife, Roxane all of Pine Prairie; three daughters, Marlene Fontenot of Opelousas, Paula Guillory and her husband, Neal of Pine Prairie and Carla Carter and her husband, Mike of Lake Charles and daughter in law, Nanci West of Pine Prairie; thirteen grandchildren, Brooklyn Latour, Jordan, Branigan, Elliott, Aaron, Elizabeth, Dayne, and Lynee West, Jessie Deville, Billy Chapman, Madaline Fontenot, Colt and Clay Guillory; and seven great grandchildren, Sophee and Lillee Latour, Parker, Maddyn and Olivia West, Audrey Fontenot, and Jonah Deville.
