Heritage Manor News: Happy Father’s Day!

Father’s Day has been celebrated nationwide for over 40 years, when President Richard Nixon signed a law in 1972 for fathers to be honored on the third Sunday in June. At Heritage Manor, we show our dads honor and appreciation with a celebration and award a plaque to the most active father. Our fathers enjoyed their annual trip to the zoo, followed by a lunch outing at a local restaurant of their choice. Our Father’s Day celebration will be held on Monday, June 16, at 1:30 p.m. in the activity room. Cake and punch will be served and we invite family members to join us. The most active father award was presented to Andrus Chapman. He is very active at 91 years old and still competes in the Senior Olympics. He has one son and two grandchildren. He is a veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart. Happy Father’s Day to all!
The staff of Heritage Manor wishes a Happy Birthday this week to Betty Brignac, Carol Foret and Laura Ortego.

Activities this week include in-room visits, Bible study with Thomas Toler, bingo sponsored by the Ville Platte Rotary Club, Come Lord Jesus group, popsicle party, snack toss, service by Community Prayer Line, bingo sponsored by the VFW, mass by Sacred Heart and group exercise.
The dementia unit birthday party will be held June 17, at 1:30 p.m. in the dementia unit dining room.

Cathy Jason received the pride card for June. She was recognized for her compassion and going the extra mile.
