Mamou police arrest meth lab operator

Following up on a tip received late Sunday night, January 26, Mamou police arrested a person before noon Monday for manufacture and possession of methamphetamine.
Detective Marie Potter said no one was at the residence at 712 Main St., Apt. B, in Mamou, when police arrived there Sunday night.
An informant reported the person operating the meth lab was at the residence the next morning. Police again went there with a search warrant and arrested Arthur Sittig, 43. Police also found a plastic bottle and tubing used to manufacture the drug.
Potter said Sittig moved into the residence a couple of days before police were notified of the meth lab there.
