The Mamou Police Department recently made two major arrests within the town’s limits.
On March 14, 2017 MPD officers responded to a female being combative.
According to a MPD press release, during their investigation officers learned that Daniel Manuel, 57, “had given the female some prescription narcotics.”
Manuel was arrested for distribution of schedule IV narcotics.
Earlier in the month, on March 3, 2017 MPD “officers responded to a male shouting at 6:00 a.m. that morning.”
According to the MPD’s release, when the officers arrived at the scene, 61-year-old Dejean Guillory “was outside screaming loudly.”
The release went on to state that after attempting to calm the suspect down to take him into custody, “he became irate and shoved the officer.”
Ultimately police were able to detain Guillory, who was then transported to the town jail and booked on charges of battery on an officer, resisting an officer by force and disturbing the peace in a violent manor.
