Sheriff's office reports nine recent arrests

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported nine recent bookings into the parish jail.
Arrested were the following persons:
•Donald Fontenot, 51, 6091 Pine Point Road, Ville Platte, was charged March 17, with simple burglary, criminal damage to property and theft. Fontenot was being held in jail on a $15,000 bond at press time.
•Michael N. Arvie, 35, 6582 Pine Point Road, Ville Platte, was charged March 18, with Remaining after being forbidden, resisting an officer and disturbing the peace by intoxication. Arvie was being held in jail on a $2,500 bond at press time.
•Richard Arthur Ray, 32, 212 Sixth St., Mamou, was charged March 19, with no seat belt, driving under suspension, no child restraint, invalid license and interlock ignition device required. Ray was released from jail on a $991 bond.
•Crystal Angelle Brown, 21, 1640 Cajun Drive, Apt. 76, Mamou, was charged March 22, with domestic abuse battery. Brown was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
•Anthony Jerome Hebert, 22, 1640 Cajun Drive, Mamou, was charged March 22, with domestic abuse battery. Hebert was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
•Justin Renee Melancon, 31, 184 Deballier Plantation Road, Ville Platte, was charged March 23, with speeding, failure to signal, reckless operation, no proof of insurance and public intoxication. Melancon was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
•Keith Thomas, 22, 910 East St., Mamou, was charged March 24, with second degree battery. Thomas was released from jail on a $5,0000 bond.
•Gary Contrel D. Freeman, 22, 405 Oak St., Mamou, was charged March 24, with aggravated battery. Freeman was being held in jail on a $10,000 bond at press time.
•Eva Jane Belton, 48, 2209 Dr. Bobby Deshotel Ave., Basile, was charged March 24, with distribution of marijuana, expired license plate and driving left of center. Belton was being held in jail on a $5,000 bond at press time.
