The Ville Platte Police Department has arrested four juveniles in connection of multiple vehicles being broken into at a parking lot at Our Lady Queen of All Saints Church during Sunday mass.
In the release by VPPD, officers and detectives responded at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday to reports of vehicle break-ins in a parking lot on Dardeau Street in Ville Platte.
VPPD officers discovered that four vehicles had broken windows and everything from cell phones, wallets and cash had been taken from the vehicles. Detectives were able to obtain DNA evidence at the scene that has been sent to the crime lab for analysis.
Detective Jessica Laborde was assigned the case and on the following day Laborde received information from an anonymous source that led to the arrest of two males and two female juveniles.
According to VPPD, all five of the stolen cell phones that were taken from the vehicles have been located and returned to their owners.
Each juvenile is being charged with four counts of burglary, four counts of theft and three counts of criminal damage to property.
