VPPD makes pair of recent drug arrests

The Ville Platte Police Department received information from St. Martin Parish that a stolen vehicle was tracked to the Ville Platte area of Hickory Street, Railroad Street and High school Drive.
Detectives responded to the area and found the vehicle parked at a residence on Young Street. When detectives approached a male subject standing outside the residence, he fled on foot. While fleeing the area the suspect disposed of baggies containing cocaine and marijuana. Once the suspect was apprehended and searched detectives located hydrocodone pills in his pockets.
Jessie Gary Ben, 30, of 413 Martin Luther King was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II (cocaine), possession with intent to distribute schedule II (hydrocodone), possession with intent to distribute schedule I (marijuana), resisting an officer and violation of CDS. Ben was transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail on a $95,000.00 bond.
Detectives also made contact with a second male subject and learned that he drove the vehicle to the residence and that there was marijuana and methamphetamine pills inside the vehicle.
Randul Lapez Skinner 29 of 304 View Orleans Apt. C, Lafayette, La. was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute schedule II, possession of schedule VI, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of CDS. Skinner was transferred to the Evangeline Parish Jail on a $95,000.00 bond.
