Sacred Heart loses to Kinder; Pine Prairie rolls over Ville Platte

The Sacred Heart Lady Trojans gave up a three-run lead in the bottom of the fifth they could not overcome in an 8-6 non-district loss to the Kinder Lady Yellow Jackets.
Meanwhile, the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers continue to dominate District 5-3A, as they rolled past the Ville Platte High Lady Bulldogs 20-0 in a district contest.
Here is a rundown of both of those games.

Sacred Heart
vs. Kinder
Sacred Heart began the game with a runner in scoring position in the top of the first, but could not plate the run.
Kinder found a way to ease a run across in the bottom of the first to take the early lead.
The Lady Trojans answered in the top of the second when Erin Fontenot hit a two-run home run.
Kinder scratched two more runs across in the bottom of the third to take the 3-2 lead.
However, Sacred Heart regained the momentum with a single run in the fourth and three runs in the fifth.
But, the Lady Trojans failed to hold the lead, as Kinder scored five unanswered runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the win.
Olivia Hernandez was three for four to lead Sacred Heart at the plate.
The Lady Trojans fall to 7-4 on the season with the loss.

Pine Prairie
vs. Ville Platte
Pine Prairie used only five innings to roll past Ville Platte Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Panthers pounded out 16 hits and held the Lady Bulldogs to only two base runners the entire game.
The Lady Panthers knocked in eight runs in the top of the first to begin the game.
In that inning, 12 batters came to the plate, as the first five runners for Pine Prairie crossed the plate. Tori Johnson and Sara Tate both singled, while Marlee McDaniel doubled to help the cause.
The Lady Panthers added a run in the second inning when Tori Bordelon scored on a single off of the bat of Abbie Fontenot.
Pine Prairie continued to put points on the board, as they produced five more runs in the third and six runs in the fourth.
Julia Chaddrick was 3 for 4 to lead the Lady Panthers at the plate.
Pine Prairie moves to 13-5 on the year and 3-0 in district play with the win.
