Sometimes I swear I see clearer through the lens of a camera than I do through my own eyes.
I’ve seen many sunsets and many sunrises in the 10 years I’ve been a newspaper photographer and reporter, and before I got my first digital camera in 2006, I always had a disposable camera in my purse.
I put my camera bag in my car every morning, when I get up to head to the gym at 4:30 each morning, and with the time change, I am able to shoot photos like these on the way home. I take a back, farm road to and from the gym, and the open lands provide an obstructed view of the sunrise.
In the afternoon, I catch the sunset on my family’s farm, and cloudy conditions make for some of the best scenes to photograph. When it comes to cloudy conditions, no sunrise and no sunset is ever the same.
