Turkey Creek's Christmas in the Village planned for Saturday, December 14

Turkey Creek’s Third Annual Christmas in the Village celebration is set for Saturday, December 14, at Drouet Park. Many fun events are scheduled, including a gumbo cookoff, with the gumbo being served to military service men and women in attendance and sold to the public following the competition; a large fireworks display sponsored by Frnak and Rhonda Butler, magic act for the children, live music from Ashton Dupre, Roy Chaffin and Danny Paul with Southern Express and the Bernie Alan Band, trail ride classic car show, rides, tractor pull, horse and buggy rides, face painting, rock climbing wall, mechanical bull and petting zoo and goods booths. Ride bracelets are $7 each at the gate or $5 if purchased at the village hall between December 2, and December 12. In addition to the ride bracelets, a $2 entrance fee will be assessed this year in order to help offset the cost of the event. To go along with the Christmas in the Village event, the village will be hosting Supper with Santa on Tuesday, December 10, and Thursday, December 12, at the Turkey Creek Community Center. This event includes a meal, activity stations (with materials included) and a visit and photos with Santa. Tickets for this event are $10 per child and an optional $6 per adult for an adult meal. Seating is limited, so call the village hall at 461-2212 to reserve your seats. Should the weather be inclement, the festivities will be moved to the following Saturday, December 21.
