EPSO charges two with kidnapping and rape

On Saturday, March 7, deputies with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Troopers responded to an anonymous complaint involving a hostage situation at 2776 Duralde Highway near Eunice.
During the investigation, it was learned that Mark Miller, 32, 464 Suzie Drive, Eunice, was involved in the kidnapping of a female victim. Miller was taken into custody without incident. It was also learned that the victim was raped during the incident. Miller was charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated rape.
Laura Jo Reeves, 3606 Stagg Ave., Basile, was identified as Miller’s accomplice in this crime. She was also taken into custody and booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail for aggravated kidnapping, accessory after the fact to aggravated rape and possession with intent to distribute Schedule II controlled dangerous substance.
Miller is being held on a $500,000 bond, while Reeves is being held on a $150,000 bond.
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that the victim’s name is being withheld at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
