The driver of an 18-wheeler cab suffered a massive heart attack and drove off the left side of North First Street Thursday, a short distance from Vine Street, as he was entering Chataignier from the north.
A passenger in the cab was able to steer it between two houses.
The cab knocked a fire hydrant about 100 feet as it went through the front yard of a home, barely missing a carport and minivan before it came to a stop just before reaching an adjacent house. No other injuries were reported.
