EMMA JOY DEMORUELLE

VILLE PLATTE- A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, January 30, 2017 for Emma Joy Demoruelle at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Father Taj Glodd officiated the service. Burial followed at Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
Demoruelle, 84, a resident of Ville Platte, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017.
Demoruelle started working as one of the 10 operators for the telephone company in Ville Platte in 1950. In 1959, she was promoted to chief operator. When the Ville Platte toll center closed down, she transferred and moved to Welsh to work as the toll center supervisor. After 40 years of working for Century Link she returned to Ville Platte to be with her family. Demoruelle made many friends throughout her career. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her brother, John Louis Demoruelle and wife Katrina; sister, Shirley Vidrine; nieces, Ann Vidrine, Sybil Vidrine and Connie Vidrine; and nephews, Jean-Paul Demoruelle and Joshua Demoruelle.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Blanche “Cot” Demoruelle; and sister, Kathy Demoruelle.
Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte was in charge of arrangements.
