PLAISANCE - Funeral services will be held for Joseph Elsie Dupre, 75, of Plaisance, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Grand Prairie at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 26. Burial will follow in the St. Andrew Cemetery in Plaisance
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Dupre died Thursday, August 21, 2014, at Opelousas General Health System. A contractor, Mr. Dupre built many homes in the Opelousas area. With strong devotion, he was a supporter of America Needs Fatima.
Survivors include his wife, Becky D. Dupre of Plaisance; one son, Mitchell Dupre and his wife, Donna, of Washington; three daughters, Pauline Vidrine and her husband, Allen, of Nuba, Janet Henry and her husband, Gary, of Plaisance and Maxine Manuel and her husband, Chuck, of Ville Platte; one brother, Raymond Dupre of Plaisance; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arville and Agnes Dupre; two brothers, Ernest Dupre and Nasen Dupre; and one sister, Rose Fontenot.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 25, from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m., with a rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m., and will resume again Tuesday, August 26, at 8 a.m.
Father Clement will officiate.
