Lawrence Deshotel

Funeral services will be held for Lawrence Deshotel, 86, of Ville Platte, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Ville Platte at 11 a.m., Saturday, September 6. Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Cemetery in Point Blue.
Mr. Deshotel died Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas. He was the owner of Deshotel Grocery and Boudin in Ville Platte.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Ella Mae Deshotel of Ville Platte; two sons, Anthony Deshotel of Oak Park, California, and Chad Deshotel of Ville Platte; two daughters, Elaine Mose of Ville Platte and Celene Deshotel of Carencro; one daughter-in-law, Debbie Deshotel of Oak Park, California; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Deshotel and Effie Pitre Deshotel; one brother, Calvin Deshotel; one sister, Regina Deshotel Alfred; and two great-grandchildren, Jaiden Mose and Natayla Mose.
Visiting hours will be observed from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, September 6, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Ville Platte.
Rev. Eradley Ben Sr. will officiate.
