Rayford Fontenot

Funeral services were held for Rayford Fontenot, 93, of Point Blue, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ville Platte at 4 p.m., Monday, March 28. Burial followed in the Evangeline Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Fontenot died Saturday, March 26, 2016, at his residence. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II.
Survivors include one son, Joey Fontenot and his wife, Brenda, of Point Blue; two daughters, Sandra Lafleur and her husband, J.F., and Carolyn Martin, all of Point Blue; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand and Thelma Aucoin Fontenot; his wife, Melba Fontenot; one daughter, Dale Hearn; and one sister, Mary Elda Savant.
