Travel association names Lakeview in Eunice as RV Park of the Year

The Louisiana Travel Promotion Association recently awarded the title of Campground/RV Park of the Year to Lakeview Park & Beach — a place that embraces every aspect of Cajun living with, food, music, dancing, and outdoor recreational activities.
Since the 1960s the park has been a gathering place for families, but these days it’s also a haven for tourists, Grammy nominated musicians, local and celebrity chefs, and those ready to practice their Cajun two-step, all thanks to the Pitre family who reopened the park in 2009. Since then it’s become renowned for unique Mardi Gras celebrations, a music camp held in conjunction with the Black Pot festival, and fais do-do dances held in a charming, rustic barn.
At the LTPA Membership Luncheon in Lake Charles, siblings, Laura, Bonnie, and Lance took to the stage with their father, Kenneth, and sister-in-law, Kelly, to accept their award from Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser.
Bonnie Pitre Kyzar said, “Preserving our Cajun culture through cuisine, music, dancing, and language has always been a passion of ours here at Lakeview Park & Beach. We are honored to receive an award which recognizes our park and all of the effort that we have put into it. Obviously none of our success would have been possible without all of the support from our community and guests. So we would like to send out a big thanks to all who have been there for us throughout the years.”
Also in attendance was St. Landry Parish Tourist Commission, Executive Director, Celeste Gomez. “Our tourism partners at Lakeview Park & Beach are truly deserving of the Louey Award. We have witnessed their hard work and determination over the years in making sure that a great experience is had by all who stay with them, and we are so happy that our peers recognize this as well”, said Gomez.
