Dr. and Mrs. Ryan Jameson Buller

Dr. Buller, Dr. Hodges united in holy matrimony

Our Lady Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte provided the setting for a lovely 6 p.m. ceremony on Friday, May 22, 2015, uniting Dr. Emily Ann Hodges and Dr. Ryan Jameson Buller in holy matrimony, with Father Mitchell Guidry officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Michael and Susan Curole of Baton Rouge and Miles Hodges of Denham Springs. The groom is the son of Mark and Connie Buller of Ville Platte.
The church was adorned with a duo of fresh floral pew markers of green cymbidium orchids, navy blue dendrobium orchids, peacock feathers, seeded Yuke and candlelight.
Given in marriage by her father and step-father, the bride was radiant in her ivory-colored, full-skirted, princess gown of layered illusion topped with ivory silk. The gown was accented by a jewel filigree belt at the waist and topped with a ruched bodice complete with sweetheart neckline. She wore a veil of ivory illusion edged with iridescent crystals and jeweled hair comb to complete her attire.
The bride carried a bouquet of green cymbidium orchids, navy blue dendrobium orchids, peacock feathers, aspididrum leaves and seeded Yuke.
Michelle Hodges Blanchard of Thibodaux served her sister as matron of honor for the special occasion. She wore a floor-length gown of cobalt blue with accented with a sweetheart neckline. She carried a bouquet of green cymbidium orchids, peacock feathers, green hypericum berries, aspididrum leaves and seeded Yuke.
Bridesmaids were Margeaux Buller of New Orleans, sister of the groom; and Margaret Patrick of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Alyson Moll of Shreveport, Thuy Dinh of New Orleans, Marcie Adams of New Orleans, Danielle Fincher of Berkeley, California, and Vanessa Duris of Kimberton, Pennsylvania, friends of the bride. They were attired identically to the maid of honor.
Derek Fontenot of Ville Platte served as best man for the evening ceremony. He was attired in a dove grey tuxedo with grey tie and cobalt blue tie. The groom also was attired in a dove grey tuxedo with ivory vest and tie. Boutonnieres were fashioned with blue-wing and green-wing teal feathers, mallard feathers and eye of peacock feathers.
Groomsmen were Jacob Ardoin and Zachary Ardoin, both of Lafayette, and Quinn Arnaud of Alexandria, friends of the groom; Grant Fontenot, Nicholas Colligan and Spencer Bordelon, all of Ville Platte, cousins of the groom; and Chester Materne, of Pineville, friend of the bride. They were attired identically to the best man.
Ushers were Thomas Sammons and Kevin Astugue of New Orleans.
Flower girls were Taylor and Caroline Blanchard, nieces of the bride, and Emma Patrick, friend of the bride. They carried kissing balls made up of green dendrobium orchids tied with a double-faced satin ribbon.
Ring bearer was Elliot Patrick, friend of the bride. He wore a peacock print vest with tuxedo and boutonniere to match the groomsmen.
For her daughter’s special night, the bride’s mother selected an orchid-colored, floor-length gown of silk shantung featuring a bead-encrusted medallion at the hip with matching bolero jacket.
The groom’s mother chose a teal-colored, floor-length gown of silk illusion, featuring a sheer bodice and sleeves accented with crystals and beads.
A reception followed at the Wolff Banquet and Reception Hall in Washington. Guests entered between two silver lighted trees dripping with antique chandelier crystals and prisms. The hall was illuminated with glass globes filled with blue gel beads and LED lamps in in the windows. The buffet featured a metal sculptured peacock centerpiece with an hombre effect tail of fresh lime green, navy blue and purple dendrobium orchids and green cymbidium orchids accented with peacock feathers. Guest tables were decorated with a vintage glass collection in all the hues of cobalt blue, teal, emerald green and aqua and accented with peacock feathers and votive candles.
The iridescent, emerald green bride’s cake featured a monogram, cobalt blue and green scroll décor and golden beads and was topped with a hand-painted clay sculpture of a pair of peacocks. The groom’s two-tiered cake was decorated as the morning sunrise in a duck blind featuring duck hunter silhouettes and was topped with hand-carved wooden hen and drake mallard ducks.
Following a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple has made their home in Ville Platte.
