Heritage Manor News: Spring activities

There are so many signs of spring. Look outdoors and you may see flowers blooming, trees budding, birds gathering their nesting materials and sunshine. This week begins with Daylight Savings Time, the annual French Retreat, the monthly VFW barbecue, monthly ice cream party weekly mass and monthly service by New Life Assembly of God. We have outings planned for this month that include Silver Eagle Social in Pine Prairie and bingo blowout in Rayne. The dementia unit birthday party will be held Tuesday, March 11, at 1:30 p.m. Family members and friends are encouraged to attend.
Hazel Jackson has been selected as Resident of the Month for March and Latoya Lavigne has been selected as Employee of the Month. Jackson is very pleasant and enjoys morning activities. Lavigne is a soft spoken, gentle nurse and enjoys her job helping the residents.
The Annual French Retreat sponsored by the Catholic Daughters has been moved to Wednesday, March 12. The retreat will begin at 8 a.m. at the Our Lady Queen of All Saints Family Life Center. Father Richard Vidrine will lead the retreat. We are very blessed to share this precious time together during the Lenten season.
Activities this week include rosary, horseshoes, pokeno, bingo sponsored by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, in-room visits, social reading, manicures, jingo, ice cream party and mass by Sacred Heart.
The staff of Heritage Manor sends get well wishes to Calvin Ardoin, Theresa Fontenot, Louis Levine, Mitchell Brown, Francis Nelson and Eleanor Johnson.
Many thanks to Guardian Hospice and Mikey’s Donuts for the great king cakes donated for the Mardi Gras party.
