Heritage Manor News: Super Bowl Sunday

Are you ready? The game that everyone has been waiting for is finally here. Super Bowl XLVIII is ready to face off with the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos after winning their respective conference championship games. Met Life Stadium and New Jersey may never be the same. Rumor has it that Peyton Manning is on top of his game and is like fine wine, better with age. In 2013, he threw for an NFL record 55 touchdown passes and 5,477 passing yards. Russell Wilson once attended Peyton Manning’s camp. Wilson will be the fifth quarterback to make his Super Bowl debut at the age of 25. World-renowned soprano Renee Fleming will sing the National Anthem, and the half-time show will be interesting, with entertainment provided by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bruno Mars. Good luck to all individuals on the Super Bowl pool.
Activities this week include in-room visits, hot chocolate, Olympic games, exercise, rosary, resident council meeting, cookie bake, arts and crafts, bookmobile, mass, bouree games and music by T-Rob Soileau.
The staff of Heritage Manor wishes a Happy Birthday this week to Dalbis Fontenot, Nancy Pitre, Samuel Ruth and Louis Levine.
Next week, Heritage Manor will hold its annual sucker sale. We have been very successful in the past with this fund raiser. It enables us to share sweets with the residents, along with a card showing them who purchased the Valentine treat for them. They look forward to this event each year. The proceeds go to outings sponsored by the facility, such as movie trips, picnic in the park and the annual zoo trip. If you are interested in purchasing suckers, please call or come by the facility and ask for the activity department.
