Minister’s Corner: Don’t be deceived

Matthew 7:21-23 KJV says, “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
What we need to understand about these verses is that miracles do not necessarily mean that God approves of the person who performs them. Did you realize that? Deutoronomy 13:1-5 reveals that God may actually allow miracles to test His people to see whether they really love the Lord with all their heart and soul, or whether they will clamor after anyone who seems to have power.
Don’t look to signs and wonders as a proof of any ministry or preacher or prophet. After all, the word of God tells us in Numbers 23 that God used wicked Balaam. He even used Balaam’s donkey. The high priest, Caiaphus, was used by God to prophesy that Jesus would die for all the people, according to John 11:51-52. We wouldn’t want to have followed him!
Don’t be deceived. Watch your life and what you believe closely!
