Sheriff's office reports seven recent arrests

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported seven recent bookings into the parish jail.
Arrested were the following persons:
•Dewayne A. Thomas, 23, 817 Cypress St., Mamou, was charged January 2, with domestic abuse battery. Thomas was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
•Bailey Ann Ortego, 18, 1009 Sweet Gum Drive, Ville Platte, was charged January 3, with open container and illegal possession of alcohol by a person under 21. Ortego was released from jail on a $308 bond.
•Derek Runnels, 1220 Eighth St.,Mamou, was charged January 2, with unauthorized use of a vehicle. Runnels remained in jail on a $2,500 bond at press time.
•James A. Johnson, 33, 2519 Schambers St., Basile, was charged January 3, with parking in roadway prohibited, resisting an officer and possession of Schedule I narcotics. Johnson was released from jail on a $1,500 bond.
•Francis J. Laperouse Jr., 43, 636 Reswber St., St. Martinville, was charged January 3, with illegal possession of stolen things. Laperouse remained in jail on a $10,000 bond at press time.
•Jordan Lynn Richard, 18, 504 Fourth St., Mamou,was charged January 5, with driving under suspension, following too close, no light on license plate and failure to dim lights. Richard was released from jail on a $691.50 bond.
•Travis Vancell Allison, 35, 1112 Melody Lane, Mamou, was charged January 7, with phone harassment. Allisonwas released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
