At the Louisiana State Arboretum many people showed up to see The Great American Eclipse with friends and family members.

This past Friday, each of the five Evangeline Parish football teams took to the gridiron to find out if their hard work and dedication paid off, as each club participated in a fall scrimmage.

A coaching legend

When you take in the Louisiana high school scene over the past 60 years, many famous names pop up in the coaching ranks.
But, when it comes to other intangibles besides just wins, one name stands above all the others. That name is Marion Dutton Wall.

Making the drive

Only a few power points separated Ville Platte High from the 2016 playoffs. And, in retrospect, it may have been only been four actual points that kept the Bulldogs from repeating another playoff appearance.

Back to work

BASILE – No one in Bearcat country was happy with Basile’s 3-8 finish last football season.
The Bearcats had three straight quarterfinal appearances and were 31-5 from 2013 to 2015.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lanell Rushing was held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017 in the Pine Prairie Christian Tabernacle. Reverends Barry Gautreaux, Johnny Wilkinson and Chris Juneau officiatied.
