The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s office recently arrested Leandra Delarosa after she kicked a pregnant 16-year-old in the stomach.
In a press release from Evangeline Parish Sheriff Eddie Soileau, it stated that “Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a dispatch call of a disturbance at the 1700 block of West Stagg Avenue (Lakewood Apartments),” recently.
The release went on to say that “the 16-year-old juvenile and the 19-year-old woman, identified as Delarosa, got into an argument which became physical and allegedly led to Delarosa kicking the 16-year-old in the stomach.”
According to the release, Delarosa, who was arrested for the incident on August 15, 2017, has been accused of kicking the juvenile “in the stomach more than one time.”
Following the incident, “the victim was transported to a nearby medical center for evaluation.”
In the sheriff’s release he states that his office is “currently awaiting the results of the initial examination.”
Delarosa was arrested and charged with attempted second degree feticide.
She was booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail, where she remains incarcerated on a $100,000.00 bond set by Judge Chuck West.
Also assisting in this arrest was the Basile Police Department.
